Good Times

The Good Times Community Block Party is designed specifically to meet the unique needs of residents living in affordable housing by bringing them everyday essentials—and a positively good time—just when they need it the most.

In affordable housing communities, it is not uncommon for residents to find themselves having to do without the basic household items such as soap, shampoo and toilet paper, that many of us take for granted. In fact, the Good Times program began as a result of a local newspaper story about a resident living in affordable housing who at the end of each month had to choose between buying food or toilet paper for her family. Concerned members of the community stepped up to assist and created the Good Times program.

With the Good Times truck, these supplies literally roll in just in time and are distributed during a fun and festive block party. With a prize wheel, music and games, the Good Times Community Block Party brightens spirits and lightens the load for people who are reluctant to accept charity because of the stigma of need.
